Enterprise Architecture (EA) is an organisation-wide framework for incorporating business processes, information flows, applications, and infrastructure to support the organisation's primary goals. Enterprise architecture is a more specific area of expertise than IT or management consulting. While an IT-based discipline, EA touches on all areas of organizational management, particularly human resources and organizational architecture. The end result of an EA process should be a complete system that is aligned to an organisation's internal structure and fits with its internal and external processes.

EA practitioners require many years of broad experience in large organizations, knowledge of process modeling languages, such as the Unified Modeling Language (UML), and in-depth knowledge of the three categories of IT architecture: information, infrastructure and applications, or without the intimidating jargon, data, hardware and software.

Our approach to EA is based on The Open Group Architecture Framework, a best-practice standard which is usually called by its very unappealing acronym, TOGAF. The Open Group are a wonderful industry body, but marketing is not one of their key strengths.
